Mixed resolution support (Up to 5 SD-SDI and 4 HD-SDI video inputs)

Monarch Virticast™ 3DE system supports up to 5 live video inputs in SD format or 4 live video inputs in HD format in PAL color standard. It supports High Definition (HD) and Standard Definition (SD) resolution simultaneously in a single system depending on the model of the product.

Monarch Virticast™ 3DE has the capability to simultaneously Chroma key all the incoming live video inputs (5 in SD and 4 in HD format) display them on air on the single output screen.

Advanced Chroma Key

Monarch Virticast™ 3DE has the advanced Chroma key algorithm. Better spill correction of blue or green color is the added feature which removes the spill from the green or blue surroundings. Correction matte and Garbage matte are unique features which help to achieve better chroma results even with unevenly lit backgrounds. The post key color correction is another feature which helps to match the lighting condition of background and get the more harmonious color tone of the anchor and background.

Integration of external CG input through DSK

In a traditional system, graphics coming from external CG is overlaid on the program output and does not move with the movement of the virtual camera angles.
Monarch® Virticast™ 3DE not only provides this function to overlay graphics but also it provides the function to integrate the graphics from CG system as integral part of the virtual set. In this function the graphics coming from the CG system becomes the part of the virtual set and it also moves along with the movement of the virtual camera angles.This feature is very useful for election result analysis, weather forecasts, educational programs and many more programs where graphics from CG system is the integral part of the program.

Depth of Field

Depth of Field is one of the important features in Monarch® Virticast™ 3DE. This feature exactly emulates the behaviour of real optical lenses of the physical cameras, thus lending a shade of reality in 3D virtual set environment. This feature improves the depth of the virtual studio enhancing the production quality.

Incorporation of VGA screens through Network Input

Monarch® Virticast™ 3DE can display VGA screens from networked computer using the client software. This is very useful to display power point presentation from the client PC or the video clips playing from the client PC.

Swipe transition between virtual cameras

Swipe is a transition effect between two virtual camera selected in virtual camera switcher. Swipe is an overlay effect which takes place with an alpha wipe pattern revealing the Standby Camera source with a wipe and a tint effect. During the swipe transition static image of video clip can be displayed during the transition. This is useful to display channel logo, program id or sponsor logos during the transition.Trail effect can be added during the swipe transition using color or static image. An audio effect can be added during the swipe transition by linking the external audio in WAV or MP3 format or playing the audio embedded in the video clip.

3D Object with skin mesh and animation

A SKIN MESH object gives user the freedom to add any animated 3D object in the virtual set. This object can be created in the 3D software and can be imported along with its animation in the virtual set. This object retains its original animation and plays continuously in loop irrespective of the virtual camera motion. This is very useful for the Augmented Reality application.

Dedicated tactile keyboard support

The dedicated tactile keyboard is designed for the Virticast 3DE series of virtual studio systems. This keyboard exactly replicates the functions of Virtual Switcher, Media selection, switching and playback, Graphic and Text Crawl overlay functions.Once the virtual set is loaded and all the other adjustments are done, user will hardly need to use the computer keyboard or mouse. The switcher like design of the keyboard makes it very easy for the user to operate the system without remembering the keyboard short cuts and pressing the mouse buttons.

Virtual sets customization through the Motion Designer application

Monarch® Virticast™ 3DE has the built in Motion Designer™ software. This software is used for compositing virtual sets and creating virtual camera motions. With the help of many features in this application, it is possible to add or insert object layer, cut copy or paste object layer. In this way it is possible to change the object layers in the composition and change and modify the look and feel of the virtual set very easily.

Dynamically replace media sources in virtual set

Virtual set customization is also possible by replacing Pre-defined media images and videos used in the virtual sets dynamically. By simple drag and drop operation, images and video are replaced in the virtual sets and it is possible to do last minute changes in the virtual sets.

Realistic Sets

Monarch® Virticast™ 3DE delivers more realistic sets through enhanced metal and glass textures and real time reflection and shadows in the virtual set. Monarch® Virticast™ 3DE is capable of real time replacement of media objects. This helps to re-purpose the sets in real time. The sets also look more realistic due to behaviour of media and 3D objects.

GPI Inputs controls

General Purpose Inputs (GPI) allows certain functions of Monarch® Virticast™ 3DE to be controlled and triggered by third party hardware like switchers and vision mixers. Monarch® Virticast™ 3DE I/O hardware (breakout box) has DB 25 pin GPI I/O port. The 12 GPI inputs can be controlled separately and it can be assigned multiple commands. You can configure each GPI command with multiple functions attached to each command.

Redundancy

Monarch® Virticast™ 3DE has option of redundant system. This feature is implemented through the tactile keyboard. Two identical models of Monarch® Virticast™ 3DE system can be connected to single tactile keyboard. If one system fails, emergency button on tactile keyboard will allow the user to switch to other system. Usual operations will be mirrored on both the systems providing same status and avoid any accidental on air operations.
